BLOG: The NEP Experience
NEP at the World Government Summit
From February 13-15, the annual World Government Summit (WGS) was held in Dubai under the theme of “Shaping Future Governments.” The summit is a hub for knowledge exchange between government officials, thought leaders, policymakers, and the private sector, as well as an opportunity to examine the challenges and trends humanity faces.
NEP 1.0 alumnus Mohamed Al Sharhan was recently appointed as Director of the World Government Summit organization by His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of WGS and member of the NEP Advisory Council.
The WGS roster of speakers included six NEP 3.0 mentors, the NEP Director, two Advisory Council members, and six speakers from Module 3’s UAE Government Vision summit.
The event offered myriad opportunities for the cohort to dive into the issues facing their sectors, from the links between space and sustainable development to the innovations shaping the future of healthcare.
“The urgency of climate action is more evident than ever and if we do not take action now, we will fall behind. It’s up to us to write our next chapter as one of either great tragedy or of great opportunities.” – Saood Al Noori
