Siemens Energy hosted NEP 4.0 at the Siemens Energy Innovation Center at Khalifa University, featuring Dietmar Siersdorfer, CEO of Siemens Energy Middle East & Africa, and Dr. Fahad Alyafei, Chief Technology Officer of Siemens Energy Technology and Innovation Center in Abu Dhabi. As part of the NEP 4.0 National Priority Journey on Energy, Renewables, and Sustainability, the conversation with Siemens Energy centered on how national experts can help advance innovation and tackle key challenges shaping the future of the UAE’s energy sector.

Siersdorfer will be mentoring five experts of NEP 4.0, offering insights into the evolving energy landscape, the nexus of renewables and sustainability, and disruptive trends shaping the sector. As part of the mentorship, NEP experts have been invited to join a virtual mentorship session on March 27, 2025, and an in-person mentorship meeting on May 1, 2025, with an additional invitation to attend Siemens’ Partner Day in Brussels in July 2025 for further engagement and networking opportunities.

Attending the meeting were five NEP 4.0 experts:

• Ahmed Alsuwaidi – Senior Manager, Energy CAPEX, Capital Projects, Emirates Global Aluminium
• Dr. Hoda Alkhzaimi – Associate Vice Provost of Research Translation, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, NYU Abu Dhabi
• Maitha Alkaabi – Team Leader, Finance Negotiations, COP 28 Presidency
• Eman Alsuwaidi – Team Lead Market, ADNOC
• Dr. Faisal Almarzooqi – Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, Khalifa University
