NEP 2.0

The Social Development Sector is moving towards empowering citizens of all abilities and ages to become contributing members of societies. Recent initiatives of the Ministry of Community Development (MOCD) in the UAE actively seek to promote volunteerism, the social integration of People of Determination, and the transformative role of technology to deliver social services.
After graduating from the American University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication, Sara began work as an Assistant Project Manager at MOCD where she has contributed to projects on National Family Policy, Inmate Rehabilitation, and Community Schools. “The Social Development sector is a diverse sector which incorporates many variables, but most importantly, it is a human sector. It is my belief that as a society, we do better when we rely on each other to strive and that the success of one is the responsibility of all.”
In her career she has learned that leadership requires a combination of creative problem solving, working with diversity, and harnessing positive energy. She strives to apply her experience in the NEP to benefit the community. “It is my goal to apply these new skills and to disseminate them within the community so we can strengthen ties and create a more knowledge-based and happier society.”
