Khulood is a passionate designer, design thinker, and educator with over a decade of experience spanning the creative industries and academia. With more than ten years of professional experience in research and a proven track record of teaching excellence, she delivers a unique blend of practical interdisciplinary expertise with pedagogical skills to inspire and mentor the next generation of global citizens.

As a Lecturer of Engineering Design at New York University Abu Dhabi, Khulood has pioneered curriculums at the intersection of design and engineering. She teaches a wide range of interdisciplinary undergraduate courses across divisions at NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU London, engaging students in transformative learning experiences. Khulood also contributes to the university’s academic community as a member of the Core Curriculum and Global Education committees and serves as Director of the NYUAD Plastics Recycling Lab. Additionally, she is a faculty member for the NYUAD Summer Academy within the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholarships for Outstanding High School Students.

In her previous role as Assistant Director of Research Visualization, Design and Manufacturing at NYUAD, Khulood founded the Research Visualization department, offering comprehensive design and manufacturing services to support Science and Engineering research.

Khulood holds a Master of Science in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London, a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art, and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design from Carleton University in Ottawa.

She is a frequent speaker at both local and international events, recently delivering keynotes at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, the Urban Transformations in Asia conference in Abu Dhabi, and the Decolonizing the Liberal Arts Curriculum symposium in London. She also served as a panelist for Fashion: An Interdisciplinary Approach in New York.
