Eng. Ahmed Alshehhi has over ten years of experience in the space sector, during which he has contributed to some of the United Arab Emirates’ most prominent achievements in space exploration.
Alshehhi currently serves as a Space Payload Specialist at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, where he works as a Payload Systems Engineer within the team responsible for developing a high-resolution camera for the Mohammed Bin Zayed Satellite. He also led the payload team during the satellite’s early operations phase. In addition, he served as Vehicle Integration Lead for the Emirates Airlock Module under NASA’s Artemis program, coordinating with international partners to integrate the module into a mission that supports humanity’s return to the Moon.
Alshehhi previously served as Systems Engineer for the Ultraviolet Spectrometer instrument under the Emirates Mars Mission, the Hope Probe, where he undertook several leadership responsibilities during the instrument’s development, testing, and operations, from launch through arrival in Mars orbit.
Alshehhi holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Khalifa University.
