Eng. Abdalla Al Hammadi is a strategic planning and technology leader with over 19 years of experience across artificial intelligence, digital transformation, defense technology, and space- related initiatives. He currently serves as Head of the Strategic Planning Department at the Ministry of Defence and has contributed to a range of national programs focused on technology strategy, innovation, data, and emerging technologies.
Previously, he served within the Special Projects Management Office of the Technology, AI, and IT Sector at the Ministry of Defence, where he supported initiatives related to AI governance, digital capabilities, data strategy, and technology adoption to enhance organizational readiness and long- term strategic objectives.
Eng. Abdalla was selected as an Emirati Analog Astronaut for the UAE’s first analog space mission, where he served as Mission Control Commander and participated in scientific and operational research activities.
Throughout his career, Eng. Abdalla has led and supported multidisciplinary programs spanning AI, digital transformation, innovation, data, and space. His areas of interest and expertise include AI strategy and governance, technology management, strategic planning, capability development, and organizational transformation.
In addition to his professional experience, Eng. Abdalla is a licensed pilot with more than 150 flight hours.
Eng. Abdalla holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Abu Dhabi University, as well as a Foundation Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan University. He also completed an Executive Diploma in Youth Leadership through the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government and has pursued executive education in areas including AI leadership, digital transformation, innovation management, and emerging technologies.
