A visionary technology leader with over two decades of experience modernizing government ICT landscapes, Col. Mohamed Al Obeidli currently serves as Deputy Director Digital Infrastructure and CIO at the UAE Ministry of Interior, where he leads strategic IT initiatives and oversees the technological modernization of ministry-wide operations. In this capacity, he has driven landmark projects spanning AI in building automation, drone-as-first-respondent systems, augmented reality facial and plate recognition, big data and predictive analytics, blockchain in government services, and service digitization of Abu Dhabi Police and MOI smart services platforms and infrastructure and managed the development of Digital twin platform for UAE.

Col. Mohamed’s career has been defined by a consistent ability to bridge strategic management with technical innovation across UAE government institutions. He served as Deputy Digital Infrastructure Director and System Development at the Ministry of Interior, and prior to that spent over a decade at Abu Dhabi Police, where he established the IT R&D function and Innovation LAB, spearheaded digital transformation strategy as Deputy Director, and managed the PMO portfolio of critical IT projects. He has also been instrumental in shaping the Abu Dhabi Government Unified Data strategy and enterprise architecture frameworks at the government level.

Col. Mohamed holds an MBA from Georgetown University, a Master’s in AI and Data from ESCP Business School, a Master’s in International Business Law from Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, a Master’s in Computer Science jointly from Zayed University and George Washington University, and a Master’s in Project Management from George Washington University, in addition to an Impactful Leadership qualification from the Mohamed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development. He holds many professional certifications, including project management in Prince 2 and PMP, TOGAF V9.1 and Disruptive Leadership certificate from UC Berkeley, among others.
