NEP at Expo 2025 Osaka
NEP marked a key milestone with its participation at Expo 2025 Osaka, contributing to the UAE Pavilion’s forward-looking program of conversations under the theme Designing Future Society for Our Lives. NEP Experts explored how leadership, collaboration, and cross-cultural exchange can shape a more resilient, innovative tomorrow.
On 17 September 2025, NEP hosted Shaping the Future: The Role of Leadership Development Programs—a roundtable convening NEP 4.0 experts across sectors to reflect on the role of national capacity building in meeting global challenges.
NEP 4.0 Experts Dr. Mohamed AlAmeri, Eman Alsuwaidi, Mira Sultan, Rawdha AlBalooshi, Ahmad Alsuwaidi, Dr. Hamad AlKaabi, and Capt. Eng. Mohamed Zainal shared perspectives on leadership in times of disruption, the power of interdisciplinary collaboration, and the value of public service rooted in purpose. The session was moderated by Saood Al Noori, NEP 3.0 Expert, who guided a rich discussion that underscored the importance of long-term vision and trust in building impact-driven leadership models.
A second session was held on 2 October 2025 with the Future Vision Forum, a joint session between NEP and Japanese counterparts exploring the shared challenge of building futures that are sustainable, inclusive, and human-centered.
The panel featured H.E. Shihab Alfaheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Ahmed Al Shamsi, NEP Director, Mohamed Al Qubaisi and Fatima Al Marzooqi, NEP Program Committee Members, Prof. Shinsuke Nagaoka, Prof. Akiko Sumi, NEP Experts Sumaya Al Hajeri, Maitha Alkaabi, Dr. Hoda Alkhzaimi, Sarah Luqman, Maryam AlFalasi, and Dr. Khalid Al Naqbi. Moderated by NEP Expert Marwah Fadhel, the conversation spanned emerging technology, cultural continuity, and the evolving roles of government and academia in long-term national planning.
From bilateral cooperation to the role of youth in innovation, both sessions spotlighted the depth and diversity of NEP’s expertise—and its continued contribution to international platforms where ideas meet action.
