Fiona Paua is Senior Adviser to the Office of Strategic Affairs, a post she has held since June 2009. In this capacity, she monitors the most relevant global trends for the UAE, among other responsibilities. Previously, she served as Senior Director at the World Economic Forum, responsible for leading the Global Competitiveness, Global Risks, and Scenario Planning teams as well as the Network of Global Agenda Councils, which brought together about 1,000 of the world’s leaders and experts to address the important global, regional, and industry challenges. In her capacity as Senior Adviser to the Executive Chairman, she also launched the Forum of Young Global Leaders and the Global Leadership Fellows Program. She joined the World Economic Forum as Economist for the Global Competitiveness Network and has served as co-editor of The Global Information Technology Report series. Previously, she was Vice President and the Country Head of Research for Citibank Philippines and was a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs in the United States, Hong Kong, and Singapore. She has also been a Fellow at the Center for Business and Government at Harvard University. She is a member of the External Advisory Board of the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy. She has a BA dual honors degree in Asian Studies and Government from Dartmouth College and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
